Sylvia
If you look through the dipping boughs
of the elm trees
you can see the glittering patches
of light
that is her genius
hidden beneath shadow layers of
cotton and year
are the shards that splinter
like little foot bones
and tear at rational thought
to brave the new world
would be a wonderous thing
it's all just a beautiful
dream
two by two they fall
the haunting obituary of silence
